CCHS National Merit Finalist Announced

Central Catholic High School, is very proud to announce that we have a National Merit Finalist amongst our senior class…Our heartfelt congratulations goes to Mr. August Schmidt. Gus is committed to attend the University of Chicago in the Fall to study Mathematics.

August Schmidt advanced to Finalist standing by demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic accomplishment.

In February, officials of the National Merit Scholarship
Corporation announced the names of approximately 15,000
Finalists in the 61st  annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity
to continue in the competition for some 7,400 National Merit
Scholarships worth about $32 million that will be offered this spring.

* AP Calc AB
*Co-Director of the Jensen Schmidt Tennis Academy for Down Syndrome, a service organization dedicated to meeting the needs of athletes with special needs. He has volunteered for this organization since 2007.
