Academics

Central Catholic High School is a college preparatory high school, offering an academically demanding educational program steeped in the traditions of the Catholic Faith.  CCHS students are given the opportunity to grow and learn in an educational environment that inspires them to reach their fullest potential and to become life-long learners.

The curriculum is designed to provide the prerequisite coursework and rigor that will fully prepare our students for college and their chosen professions, enhanced by innovative learning tools and resources.  CCHS continues to expand the course offerings across core college preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement levels.  CCHS has also partnered with Wheeling Jesuit University and Northern Community College to offer dual-enrollment college courses.   A CCHS student graduates with a firm foundation  English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language and religion while growing their talents and special interest through our offerings in performing arts, visual arts, robotics, 3-D design, broadcasting, and more. All of these offerings allow students to be engaged in a learning experience that is individualized to their educational needs and interests.

CCHS is committed to offering our students the resources and tools to support our educational goals and growing curriculum.  With the advent of our 1:1 Chromebook initiative, all students have their own device to enhance their learning experience.  In addition, our new Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) Lab is dynamic, collaborative, problem based learning and resource center, with state of the art technology and software to support and enrich the 21st century education CCHS students are receiving.  In the nurturing hands of a caring, knowledgeable, experienced faculty, these resources and tools engage students in an educational experience that is truly transformative.
