CSC749 MICROSOFT OFFICE2010 APPLICATIONS (SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

Microsoft Office Professional provides students with the skills necessary to operate word processing applications using Microsoft Word, spreadsheet applications using Excel, and presentations using PowerPoint.

 

CSC785 SAT/ACT PREP (JUNIORS-SENIORS / SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

This is a computer-assisted course which prepares students for the SAT and the ACT college entrance examinations. Students become familiar with the format and structure of both testing procedures. Students complete practice problems and utilize computer tutorials to receive immediate scoring and feedback.

 

CSC799 INTRODUCTION TO WEB PAGE DESIGN  (SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

This course is an introduction to creating web pages using hypertext markup language (HTML). Students learn the basic components of web pages and how to code these features in HTML. Topics include hyperlinks, images, tables, image maps, frames, and forms. No previous programming experience is necessary.

 

VISUAL BASIC PROGRAMMING (SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

This course provides students with the ability to create programs that run in a Windows environment. Programs are written using the Visual Basic programming language. This language allows the programmer to produce easily the entry boxes and option buttons that are common with much of today’s commercially available software.

 

CSC779 ADVANCED WEB PAGE DESIGN (SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

This course builds on the information and skills developed in HTML programming (799). Students learn to make their web pages more interactive using JavaScript. Topics covered make it possible to create web sites capable of gathering and transmitting data.
Prerequisite: Course 799 – HTML or a working knowledge of HTML.

 

VIDEO PRODUCTION (SEMESTER) ELECTIVE

This course takes students from the basics of understanding video cameras and tape all the way to editing a project. Topics include camera function, composition, lighting, scripting, storyboarding, audio methods, video styles, linear and nonlinear editing, and output from computer to tape. Students will be expected to complete several types of projects during the semester. Although access to a video camera is not required, it is recommended.
