Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry at Central Catholic High School is at the heart of our mission to nurture faith, service, and spiritual growth in every student.

Through daily prayer, liturgical celebrations, and retreat experiences, students are invited to deepen their relationship with God and one another. Service opportunities encourage compassion and a commitment to social justice, reflecting our values in action. Campus Ministry is a space for reflection, connection, and living out our Catholic faith in meaningful ways.

Mass & Prayer Services

Faith is at the heart of daily life at CCHS, and students are invited to participate in a wide range of liturgical and prayer opportunities. Weekly Masses, Holy Day celebrations, and special services for the school community to come together in worship. Students are highly encouraged to attend weekend Mass with their families and deepen their understanding of the Church’s liturgical calendar. Additionally, prayer services including adoration and the Rosary are offered regularly, creating space for reflection and spiritual connection.

Sacraments

CCHS supports students at every stage of their sacramental journey. Through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adolescents (OCIA), students who are interested in becoming Catholic or completing missed sacraments (such as Baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation) are guided in small-group settings. These sessions, which begin in January, provide preparation and faith formation alongside peers. The campus ministry team works closely with local priests and families to ensure each student receives the support they need.

Retreats

Retreats are a meaningful part of the CCHS spiritual experience, offering students time away to reflect, grow in faith, and strengthen their relationship with God and one another. Students participate in annual retreats that are tailored to their stage of personal and spiritual development. These experiences foster community, prayer, and personal growth through small group discussions, talks, and quiet reflection.

Service Learning & Verification

Rooted in the Gospel message to serve others, CCHS challenges every student to become an active member of their community through meaningful service. The Service Learning Program requires all students to complete a set number of hours each year, encouraging them to engage with diverse needs outside the classroom. More than just checking a box, service is integrated with reflection and spiritual growth, helping students connect their faith to action. In recent years, students have contributed thousands of hours to local organizations, parishes, and causes. This section will explain service requirements, reflection expectations, and where to find opportunities.

Groups & Activities

Campus Ministry offers students many ways to live their faith actively through various groups and activities. From Teens for Life and Rosary Group to Peer Ministry and Alter Ministry, students have opportunities to lead, serve, and grow alongside peers who share their values. These groups participate in school-wide events, community outreach, and national gatherings like NCYC. Whether you’re looking to grow deeper in your prayer life or advocate for the dignity of life, there’s a place for you here.
