Academic Overview

Central Catholic High School is a college preparatory high school, offering an academically demanding educational program steeped in the traditions of the Catholic Faith.  CCHS students are given the opportunity to grow and learn in an educational environment that inspires them to reach their fullest God-given potential and to become lifelong learners.

The curriculum is designed to provide the prerequisite coursework and rigor that fully prepares our students for college and their chosen professions, enhanced by innovative learning tools and resources.  CCHS continues to expand the course offerings across core college preparatory, honors, and Advanced Placement/college levels. CCHS partners with West Liberty University & West Virginia Northern Community College to offer dual-enrollment college courses and continues to expand the Advanced Placement Program.  Our Resource Learning Program allows us to meet the needs of all learners. A CCHS student graduates with a firm foundation in English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign language and religion while growing their talents and special interest through our offerings in performing arts, visual arts, computer science, broadcasting, engineering and more. All of these offerings allow students to be engaged in a learning experience that is individualized to their educational needs and interests.
