Admissions Timeline
No matter what month of the year or day of the week, it is always “Knight Time” at Central Catholic High School. Many of our admission events are listed below. You are welcome to click on the events to discover more about the admission timeline at CCHS.
January
CCHS students visit our local partner schools and share their love for the Knight Life with middle school students in grades 7 and 8. These motivational assemblies are designed to share personal stories about Central while focusing on a targeted message. In 2018, a See Your Selfie at Central theme included cell phone bookmarks, selfies taken and shared on a special webpage and a chance for students to “talk” or “text” questions during the assembly.

August
WELCOME TO CCHS! This is the first official day on campus for our freshman class! It is a great way to introduce the Central “Way of Life” to our newest Knights! Students meet teachers and some the upperclassmen who serve as leaders. They follow their schedule, learn some of the routine and guidelines and just get acclimated to the “Knight Life” without the presence of the whole student body! Lunch is served, lockers assigned, Chromebooks distributed and in no time at all – our freshman become KNIGHTS!
Even though we celebrate the fact that Central is not a “big” school and the atmosphere is very calm and family-centered – freshmen still get anxious! Change can be unsettling at first no matter how excited students are about the high school experience. Our CCHS Booster Club members are hand-selected to serve as role models, confidants, and guides during the first semester of classes. Each freshman is “adopted” by a member of the Booster Club who will keep in touch with them, reach out, check in and provide any support necessary during the middle school to high school transition! Ultimately, the Booster becomes the Cheerleader to assist our freshmen with feeling comfortable, confident and prepared for the next four years at CCHS!
September
It’s back to school (K)night for parents! Parents return to high school and receive the opportunity to follow the schedule of their CCHS Knight! It’s a great time to meet teachers and administrators and learn of the class expectations and school guidelines. Meet other parents who choose Maroon! No food fights or locker pranks – just a great time to love the school at Knight that your student loves each day!
April
Accepted students are invited to participate in Central Catholic High School’s Scholarship Competition Day. Future and current knights have the opportunity to write an essay to win one of several $500 scholarships for the next academic year.
Students should bring their Chromebook or another device that is able to connect to the internet and allow access to their school email account. Students will be given two hours to write an essay. They may use as much or as little of the time provided to create an essay that reflects their ability to think and show creativity. The essay must be written/created/typed during the two-hour competition. Students are permitted to create a rough draft on paper. Essays should be no more than 500 words. All essays will be submitted electronically once the student is comfortable with his/her work. Essays will be judged primarily on content, but sentence structure, grammar, and spelling will also be considered. A CCHS scholarship committee will judge the “anonymous” essays. Winners will be decided in early May.
Students and their teachers make use of the CCHS TEAL LAB to plan out their 8th-grade trip! Research and design are key as students get an inside look at their destination using the state of the art technology of the TEAL LAB! An itinerary is created as well as a travel brochure – motivating students to focus on their final BIG EVENT together as a middle school student.
